Step 1: Expert Review

Step 1: Expert Review

We have designed this three-stage process based on the feedback from our investment committee. The three stages include:

Our THREE STEP process allows entrepreneurs to proceed at their own pace and exit the process at anytime without committing fees for future steps if they feel they will be unsuccessful.

The goal of this process is to qualify, prepare and position your company to present your business model in-person to our investor base in Canada. This will help you engage directly with some of the top early stage investors across Canada.

To qualify for the Start-up Visa Program, you must meet all 4 eligibility requirements, as well as the admissibility requirements to enter Canada.

Eligibility requirements for the Start-up Visa Program

You must:

- have a qualifying business
- have a letter of support from a designated organization
- meet the language requirements, and
- have enough money to settle and live in Canada before you make money from your business

Our Keiretsu Forum Start-Up Visa process can help with the first two requirements.

1 Expert Review

B. Once received one of our review panel experts will assess your qualifications to apply to the Start Up Visa program.

C. Feedback is provided to all companies and ONLY qualified companies are invited to proceed to Stage 2

This includes initial business qualifications, positioning of your company by a select group of our investors (via a live-video session) and an in-person presentation road show to our wider investor group.

If a 'Letter of Support' is not issued or your company does not pass any of the Keiretsu Forum steps, we will guide you to other options, resources and partners across Canada who will be able to help you.

You will have a chance to meet in-person and present your business to some of the most elite angel investors in Canada. A ‘Letter of Support’ is dependent on a company’s ability to attract investors from the Keiretsu Forum road show and therefore we cannot guarantee the issuance until one of our members actively signs a term sheet with your company. We will provide guidance throughout the entire process.

Yes. If you pass 'Step 2: Business Analysis' of the process, Keiretsu Forum investors will schedule a ‘pitch polishing’ session to help you position your company (including capital raise structure) before presenting our investor base at the Canadian road show.
