Over 350 of the Bay Area’s most active and respected angel investors attended the Keiretsu Forum Angel Capital Expo at the PG&E Auditorium in San Francisco last Thursday. The all-day event featured guest speaker Attorney General Jerry Brown, 13 company presentations, discussion and due diligence at company exhibition booths, and the Most Valued Company competition, which capped off the day.

After the 13th and final company presentation, attendees voted and Keiretsu Forum San Francisco and North Bay chapter President Colin Wielawarded Nest Collective the Most Valued Company.

Led by CEO Sheryl O’Loughlin, the former CEO of Clif Bar, and Neil Grimmer, Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer, Nest Collective is a portfolio of food companies on a mission to promote healthy eating in the U.S. “one yummy bite at a time.” Based in Emeryville, CA, The Nest Collective owns two kid-focused consumer products companies: Plum Organics (a leading baby & toddler food brand) and Revolution Foods (a leading kids brand with snacks made for the lunchbox).

“The Keiretsu Forum Angel Capital Expo provided us with an unmatched opportunity to meet and connect with hundreds of top-notch investors,” O’Loughlin said. “I am confident that we can build on the momentum generated from the Angel Capital Expo and grow Nest Collective into a thriving business.”

“Keiretsu Forum members are actively investing, even in this down economy,” Wiel said. “While the VCs are on the sidelines, angel investors at Keiretsu Forum are front and center, having access to the best deal flow we’ve ever seen, as evidenced by a top quality company like Nest Collective.”
